This was interesting. I was driving around Sonoma today, enjoying the spring weather and taking in the vineyard views. And because I was moseying so slowly, I noticed something different (to me). A pruning method in which the new canes are trained up and out and then back down again. Like a letter M. I'd put a yellow marker over the canes to make them stand out.
It wasn't a fluke - the entire field is trained that way. Anybody else ever run across a pruning approach like this?
